Journal “Cura e Giustizia”

The journal Cura e Giustizia is a cultural project born from the need to provide a scientific basis for reflection on the increasingly complex relationships between the law (judicial activity, in particular) and the attention due to the needs and rights of those affected by the application of the law: not only victims but also the accused, the convicted, and all those involved in the experience of injustice and in possible paths of justice.

It is a journal aimed at promoting interdisciplinarity between the fields of criminal law, philosophy, psychology, and sociology, analyzing and evaluating the need for an interrelation between justice and care.

The journal is divided into four sections: the first is dedicated to “Words and Language,” because the analysis of human discourse and its expressive forms constitutes the essential context for exploring the complexity we face daily. The second is entitled “Studies and Research” and includes scientific articles in Italian and foreign languages in the aforementioned fields. The third, “Dialogues and Intersections,” includes scientific articles resulting from interdisciplinary, comparative, or multi-faceted research. All contributions are peer-reviewed if intended for the biannual issue. The fourth, evocatively titled “Maps and Papers,” serves as an orientation tool through readings, interviews, reviews, commentaries, and notes on legislative or case law provisions.

The journal, in addition to being a tool for reflection for the scientific community, aims to serve not only the professions but also a broader audience interested in the relationship between “care and justice,” given that in the Italian scientific publishing landscape, there is currently no journal that combines these two dimensions in an interdisciplinary manner with respect to the areas specified above.

The journal includes an ethics committee. This committee does not have a general review function for published contributions, but rather a specific and limited role for those contributions that, due to their content or research method, deal with personal, sensitive, or judicial data. The ethics committee is activated by the scientific management once the review process has been successfully concluded and before the contribution is sent to the publisher.
